HANDEL’S MESSIAH – Two presentations are still available for you to attend this evening at 5:00 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 13th and Utica, in Tulsa.
FRIENDSHIP FEAST – Redeemer Lutheran’s “Team Two” will be preparing, serving, and cleaning up for the meal on tomorrow, Monday, December 9. Your help is needed and would still be welcomed. Please volunteer by contacting Cheryl Kriewall or Rosalind Burger! The “feast” is offered to individuals and families in the community each Monday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at First Christian Church (5th and Florence).
CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS REHEARSAL – this Wednesday, December 11 at 5 p.m. We need all children!
ADVENT EVENING PRAYER – The second in the short (3) series of these special midweek worship services in preparation for Christ’s coming will be held this Wednesday, December 11 at 7 p.m. Pastor’s messages for the series are based on “It’s About Time.”
CHOIR REMINDERS - Rehearsals in December continue after the Advent Evening Prayer service at about 7:45 p.m. In addition, a special rehearsal is on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 9:30 to 11:30 am. This is our last rehearsal before we present “Sing with the Angels” on next Sunday, the 15th.
BELL RINGING – A red sheet is posted on the narthex bulletin board to enable you to sign up to ring the bell for an hour at Wal-Mart coming up on this Friday, December 13 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. This is a tangible way that you can be a part of a critical fund raising activity to help those less fortunate in our community throughout the year!
KEENAGERS – Bring a snack and join us as we share food, fellowship, and games just for the fun of it in Quoss Hall this Friday, December 13 at 6 p.m.
CHRISTMAS PARADE - will be on December 14th and all participants are asked to meet at the church at 4:15 p.m. and will be transported to the site. THE WINTER QUARTER OF SUNDAY SCHOOL – continues on next Sunday, December 15 with a study about the birth of John the Baptizer (Luke 1). Please invite and bring children and youth for growing in the word of God!
SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY! – is currently based on the topic of “PROPHECY.” This study will continue next Sunday, December 15. LIVE NATIVITY – this Saturday and next Sunday, December 14 and 15 with half hour outdoor performances at 6:00 and 7:15 p.m. each evening at King of Kings Lutheran Church of Glenpool, Oklahoma. Bring your family, friends, and warm blankets to the open field on the southeast corner of Highway 75 and 151st Street in Glenpool to enjoy a dramatic presentation of the birth of Jesus. Afterward, you are welcome to come up close to view and pet the animals: donkeys, sheep, and even camels. Then warm up with complimentary hot chocolate and cookies. REFUGEE ANGEL TREE - Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Tulsa, will host the Traditional Christmas party on December 21st from 1 pm until about 3pm. ADVENT DEVOTIONS AVAILABLE – The 2013 theme for Advent devotions available through Lutheran Hour Ministries is “The Word Became Flesh and Dwelt among Us.” In addition there are also Advent devotions available for children entitled “Advent People: Waiting for the Coming Savior.” These devotions can be accessed online at www.adventdevotions.net. There you can request the devotions be sent by e-mail, read them, or listen to a podcast of them. If you would like a printed copy of the devotions, you may request one by contacting our church office.
BUILDING FUND CHALLENGE – This is to let you know that $1400.00 has been received for the building fund through last Sunday, December 1 toward the $10,000 matching gift challenge put forward by anonymous donors. You have until the end of December to make contributions to take advantage of this very generous offer!
THANK YOU! – to the men (especially Denis, Huey, and Don) who stayed following breakfast and Bible study on Saturday, November 30 to complete a couple projects – strengthen the supports for the bulletin board in Quoss Hall and place bolts into the congregation’s folding tables to strengthen them.
PROPOSED “CORNERS” FOR A FUTURE “FAMILY LIFE” BUILDING – for Redeemer Lutheran have been marked in the east parking lot. If you have interest in seeing where a building might stand, see Denis Nelson or Joe Kays about this.
FOOD PANTRY - The most needed items for this week include spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, and jelly. Thank you for your continued support for this mission.

LABELS TO SAVE – Please cut and save the UPC symbol from Best Choice products for the Save-A-Label program. We only need about 100 more to complete our goal of 2000. If we have these symbols by Dec. 15 we can receive $90.00 this year! In addition, Box Tops for education from General Mills, Ziploc, and Kleenex products along with Campbell Soup Labels for Education can be clipped and brought to church for sharing with Lutheran schools in our area.
