CHOIR REHEARSAL - resumes Wednesday, August 27 at 7:00 p.m. We are looking for more singers! Sopranos, Altos, Tenors, and Basses are needed! Experience and/or music ability are not required, just a burning desire to sing (or even a little desire). Please come.
CHOIR POTLUCK – is to be held Saturday, August 30 at 5:00 p.m. at the home of our director. This is a social opportunity for our regulars, any new members, and others who have had to be absent recently. Spouses and friends are welcome.
“GOD’S SUFFICIENT GRACE”is the title of the Sunday morning adult and youth Bible study based on Second Corinthians which will continue on Sundays through August at 9 a.m.. Join us for this study of God’s word! Sunday Morning Café treats are available at 8:30 a.m.
OUR FOOD PANTRY - Thank you all once again for your generous support. Our current pantry needs include cereals, peanut butter, jelly, tuna, canned meat, canned corn, canned beans, pasta sides, rice sides, and canned fruit.
LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF KITS which will include items for personal care, school, fabric and baby care, are currently being assembled by the LWML for fall distribution. A map showing where these kits will be sent is posted in the narthex. Additional information for assembling the kits is on the table. Backpacks for the school kits will be provided. Hand-tied quilts are also needed. Your help will be appreciated. Contact Ruth Ritter for further guidance. There is a box in the narthex for your completed kits.
MENTORS NEEDED - If you have money savings ideas, can guide someone interviewing for a job, are great with budgets and financial planning, know about renting or buying a home, are able to do tutoring, or are a caring person who can listen and give support, you are needed to help improve lives. “Getting Ahead in a Just Getting by World” is about to get underway and mentors are needed. There will be an informational meeting for possible mentors on this Thursday, August 21 at 6:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. For more information call Laurie Ault at 918-341-4580.
MEN’S MORNING – breakfast and Bible study will be held Saturday, August 30 beginning at 8 a.m. Bring a Bible and a friend! After the Bible study, help will be needed picking up branches and brush from 4 dead trees to be taken down in the east parking lot (bring gloves and such). Anyone interested in some firewood should speak to Head Trustee Don DeBolt about how you could bring your pickup or trailer and get some wood.
